Treatment Root Canal
A root canal, also known as endodontic therapy, is a dental procedure that is performed to treat and save a tooth that has a severely damaged or infected pulp (the innermost part of the tooth). The pulp contains nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue, and when it becomes infected or damaged, it can lead to severe tooth pain and potentially cause an abscess or infection. The dentist or endodontist (a specialist in root canal treatments) first examines the tooth and takes X-rays to determine the extent of the damage or infection. The dentist or endodontist drills a small access hole in the crown of the tooth to reach the pulp chamber.
